Are Students Obligated to Obey School Rules?

Since the first time we go to school, we have been taught that we are obligated to obey the rules that apply in our schools. But have you ever thought about why we are obligated to follow school rules such as wearing uniforms, cutting our hair short, and so on? Does it influence our intelligence? And what are the benefits for us if we obey school rules?

Some students state that obeying school rules doesn’t have any impact on them. They think that they can still look neat without wearing school uniforms. They say that they need to express their own style without being tied to school obligations. Their main reason is that they believe obeying school rules cannot increase their intelligence. Also, if they break the rules, it has no impact on their intelligence.

On the other hand, the obligation to obey school rules actually has some moral values. One of them is to instill the habit of following rules. It trains students to follow rules, so they will feel comfortable obeying rules wherever and whenever.

Lastly, to gain the maximum benefit, students should obey all school rules as long as they are beneficial for them. By obeying school rules, students will get used to following the rules that apply in a certain place. Thus, they will be accepted in society and can become obedient citizens.
